POLEMIK er en serie af offentlige debatter arrangeret af Overgaden, som i løbet af foråret sætter fokus på en række spørgsmål og problematikker, som er aktuelle for de danske kunstinstitutioner, der har samtidskunsten i fokus.
Denne aften går vi tæt på sproget og formidlingen i kunstverdenen. I løbet af debatten spørger vi eksempelvis til, hvorvidt kunstinstitutionerne sænker niveauet ved at gøre sproget mere tilgængeligt? Og om publikum har et ansvar for at lære sig den kunstfaglige retorik, hvis de vil tæt på samtidskunsten?

POLEMIK #2: Language – The Esperanto of Art, Thursday 3 April at 5-7pm
POLEMIK is a series of public debates arranged by Overgaden, which this spring addresses various questions and issues relevant for the Danish art institutions having contemporary art as their prime focus.
This evening we will look into the question of language and communication within the art world. During the debate, we ask whether art institutions lower the bar by making their communication more accessible? And whether the public has a responsibility for learning professional terminology if they want to gain insight into contemporary art?
Join us when Gitte Ørskou, chairman of the Danish Arts Foundation, Kirse Junge-Stevnsborg, chairman of the Danish Association of Art Centres, Berit Anne Larsen, head of communication at the National Gallery of Denmark, Christina Pontoppidan, rhetorician and external lecturer at CBS, and Matthias Hvass Borello, editor at Kunsten.nu, present their perspectives on the communication of art. The debate will be in Danish.
