Samtidig vil du arbejde sammen med somaliske civilsamfundsaktivister, herunder Mahad Farah Aden. Vi kan ikke tilbyde dig løn, men ift gældende eksamensordninger kan vi tilbyde praktik, eksamener ift opgaver mm, eller måske specialeskrivning indenfor dette område, f.eks. i et produkt- eller projektformat. Og vi kan især tilbyde et helt unikt praktikforløb som vil give dig en indgående fornemmelse af somalisk kultur og diasporaliv og give dig kontakter i det somaliske miljø i Danmark og udlandet. Og vi kan garantere dig, at det bliver både udbytterigt og rigtigt spændende.
SOMALISK KULTUR
Kendskabet til somalisk kultur er lille i Danmark. Ikke mindst kender få til de mange ressourcer, som har udviklet sig gennem somalieres kulturelle udtryk siden Somalia blev selvstændigt og gennem tre årtiers krig siden 1980erne. Seminaret vil fokusere på dette over tre dage. Først gennem en forskningskonference om somalisk kultur 20 marts, som derefter vil blive fulgt op med en offentlig begivenhed i København 21 marts og i Århus 22 marts.
INTERESSEOMRÅDER
For alle med interesse for Afrika, Somalia, postkoloniale problemstillinger, ‘den anden’, identitet, globalisering og kultur, globalt civil samfund mm. vil begivenheden være en unik anledning til at få indsigt i en kultur som ofte beskrives negativt i medierne. En række førende kulturpersonligheder, bl.a. den somaliske nationalforfatter Professor Maxamed Ibrahim Warsame Hadraawi, The Centre of Humanities, University of Burao i Somaliland vil deltage. Arrangementet er det første af sin art i Danmark.

Theme
The potential of art for deliberately forming, reflecting on and changing politics is an integral part of the modern art experience, for instance in modern avant garde forms. In recent decades this longstanding liaison between art, critique and politics has expanded into a very influential post colonial art scene. Here aesthetics, ideas, and experiences related to postcolonial issues, including migration, have fed into a wider formation of contemporary culture in globalisation in diverse ways, including postcolonial art studies, aesthetics and cultural research.
Research has pointed to the specific creativity related to the postcolonial experience, further as related to lives and life worlds of migration. Thus it is possible to argue that migration influences and transforms aesthetic practices. Not only because migrants bring different cultures and heritages to other places, but because these other cultures and heritages points to particular possibilities and potentials for addressing and performing the political in between issues related to the heritage and novel issues of migration. They thus become part of a cosmopolitical approach to politics on the national, regional and global level. This may be further reflected upon by relating artistic migratory art performances to recent years debate on performance led research, which focus on how artistic creativity may merge with and expand on notions of research.
The seminar present Somali art and intellectuals who have worked with turning potential of Somali culture and heritage into politics. The seminar presents performative statements, strategies, observations, and viewpoints to this end from the Somali artists, intellectuals and scholars and involve researchers in Somali language and culture.
