POLEMIK er en serie af offentlige debatter arrangeret af Overgaden, som i løbet af foråret sætter fokus på en række spørgsmål og problematikker, som er aktuelle for de danske kunstinstitutioner, der har samtidskunsten i fokus.
Dette arrangement sætter scenen for en kritisk debat om, hvad der sker, når publikum går fra at være passive gæster til at være aktive deltagere og medskabere på kunstinstitu-tionerne. Som eksempler på denne tendens kan nævnes tilgængelige IPads i udstillingerne, hvor publikum kan uploade deres egne anmeldelser af det, de ser, samt et øget fokus på værker, hvor fysisk deltagelse er afgørende for tilblivelsen af den udstillede kunst. Men hvad handler det egentlig om – og hvilken indflydelse har denne udvikling på kunstens institutioner?

POLEMIK is a series of public debates arranged by Overgaden, which this spring addresses various questions and issues relevant for the Danish art institutions having contemporary art as their prime focus.
This event sets the scene for a critical debate about what happens when the audience becomes active participants and co-creators while visiting art institutions rather than passive spectators. Examples of this trend include available IPads in the exhibitions where visitors can post their own reviews of what they see, as well as an increased focus on works where physical participation is crucial to the making of the artwork on display. But what is this all about – and how does this tendency influence the role of the art institutions?
Join us, when Leslie Ann Schmidt, Head of Learning and Visitors Department at Brandts; Isabel Berglund, textile and installation artist; Torben Sangild, writer and critic, and Hanne Strager, Head of Exhibition and Communication at the Natural History Museum, give their perspectives on public involvement.
