Simian is seeking interns for the 2024 program

Simian is an independent art center in the district of Ørestad in Copenhagen, Denmark.

During an internship at Simian, you will gain insight into daily operations and exhibition making, from planning, production, and setup of exhibitions to dissemination, communication, and fundraising. As an intern, you will be part of a small team that collaboratively carries out the work, so it is expected that you are motivated, flexible, and willing to take on diverse tasks.

 Profile
• You are a student at, or have completed a relevant higher education program (Fine Arts, Art History, Architecture etc)
• You have knowledge and interest in contemporary art and keep up with current trends and discourses.
• You have an interest in communicating contemporary art.
• You may have experience in production/setup of exhibitions or similar projects (not a requirement).
• You speak and write fluent English (Danish is a plus, but not a requirement).

Examples of tasks
• Communication with artists, curators, and galleries.
• Assistance in planning and production of exhibitions.
• Planning and execution of events.
• Outward communication and outreach work related to press, social media, etc.
• Assistance in grant applications.
• Exhibition management and welcoming visitors.

The internship is unpaid and is planned by agreement.
The internship can be combined with certain Erasmus+ programs.
The minimum period is three months, but preferably longer.
