About Global Platform Jordan
Global Platform Jordan (GP Jordan) has been run by AADK as a training center for youth in the Arab region since 2010. The activities at GPJordan are taking place in close cooperation with the AADK Arab Regional Initiative office based in Jordan. Together we are working to build the capacity of youth in the region, supporting them and giving them skills and tools to address social inequality and injustice in their communities, through innovative and creative tools of campaigning, governance, facilitation advocacy skills and much more.

The Learning, responsibilities and tasks
The intern will be lead in developing and transforming the new GP building into the regions coolest training hub for creative and innovative learning in the Middle East together with the rest of the Global Platform team and international collegues. We want our new Global Platform to reflect who we are and what we do and at the same time reflects sustainability and social responsibility. There will be a lot of room for the intern to influence the process of creating the learning spaces of the GP within the new GP building. Furthermore the intern will be involved in planning and organising events and activities that can attract youth to use the GP as a place and space for them to be able to express themselves and have the possibility to meet, discuss and develop ideas.
Professional Qualifications:
Expected field of study could be within interior design, performance design, event- and marketing coordination, political science, Middle Eastern Studies, Arabic, Public relations , Sociology etc.

Personal Qualifications:
You are fluent in both spoken and written English You are creative, innovative and taking initiative comes natural to you. You are culturally sensitive, diplomatic and able to compromise You enjoy working in an energetic environment and you are able to focus and prioritize in a hectic working life. You are committed, responsible and open-minded and you are able to handle stressful situations.
Your closest colleagues will be the GP Jordan trainers and support staff, as well as the other GP Jordan interns and the GP Jordan Manager. All resources available to regular staff will be available to you as well. You will refer directly to the Global Platform Manager.
Terms and conditions:
Contract period from end January to end July 2014 (Flexible dates) The internship is not paid. Travel and all living costs are to be covered by the applicant.
The intern is expected to bring his/her own laptop.
